What ProbeScribe is

ProbeScribe is a structured reporting tool for sonographer worksheets and radiologist draft generation. Sonographers enter structured measurements and observations through a clinic-configured protocol. The application assembles the entered values into a plain-text draft that a qualified radiologist reviews, edits, and finalizes in their own reporting system.

What ProbeScribe is not

• Not a diagnostic device.
• Not for primary image interpretation.
• Not a replacement for a qualified radiologist's clinical judgement.
• Not an autonomous decision-support or AI inference system. All drafts are assembled from values a sonographer entered and rules an admin configured.

Clinical responsibility

The radiologist retains full clinical responsibility for every finalized report. Generated drafts must be verified against the source images before signing. Measurements, laterality, and findings must be confirmed by the radiologist.

Intended users

• Sonographers trained in ultrasound examination.
• Radiologists qualified to interpret ultrasound studies.
• Clinic administrators configuring protocols and managing users.

Limitations

• Output quality depends on the accuracy of values entered by the sonographer and the rules configured by the clinic administrator.
• The application does not process images. It does not detect or measure anything from pixels.
• Generated text is derived from templates and conditional rules, not from medical knowledge or AI models.
• The application does not store direct patient identifiers. Patient identity is held only in the clinic's PACS or RIS, linked by accession number.

Contraindications

• Do not use ProbeScribe as the sole source of clinical findings.
• Do not release a generated draft without radiologist review.
• Do not rely on ProbeScribe for emergency or life-critical reporting where a validated enterprise reporting system should be used instead.
